Radio Frequency Microneedling; the essentials!

You might have heard of Radio frequency microneedling (it's part of my pyramid face-lift treatment), but do you know how it works and the benefits? Nope, I thought so😉so I'll break it down below.

How does it work?

Radio frequency microneedling is the gold standard treatment for facial rejuvenation with a plethora of studies proving it's effectiveness. Other technologies and trends have come and go, but this one is here to stay, because quite simply, it works!

It uses tiny needles and radio frequency waves to rejuvenate the facial skin. The microneedling aspect uses fine needles to create micro wounds in the skin. This triggers the production of elastin, and collagen. It is often referred to as 'collagen induction therapy'. Studies demonstrate that you can achieve up to a 400% increase on collagen! 👍

When combined with radio bfrequency waves, it is called radio frequency microneedling. The needle releases radio frequency into the channels, which enhances the effects of standard microneedling. I like to refer to it as 'micronnedling on heat!' (see what I did there?!🤣)

The skin then grows back thicker, smoother, tighter and more even.

So what does this improve?

  • fine lines

  • wrinkles

  • stretch marks

  • appearance of large pores

  • acne scars

  • scars from injury or surgery

  • hyperpigmentation

  • loose, sagging skin

  • cellulite

Who would this benefit?

Literally everyone over the age of 30 would benefit from this treatment, either as a preventative (collagen production starts dropping big time after the age of 30 with a steady yearly decline thereafter 😢) or corrective treatment.

Final Note

Remember though, that not all machines are made equally and not all clinicians have the correct understanding of the device and how to get the best for your skin. So choose wisely. Ensure the device is FDA and CE approved and that you provider has adequate training, can show you their results and also discuss the risks verses benefits of the treatment. This treatment improves the skin quality, it is not the equivalent of a face lift - if someone suggests such get your bum off that chair!
