Lipofirm Verses Fat Freezing: An Honest Comparison

You're killing it in the gym, you're watching what you eat yet you still don't have the body you want! I hear you! Most of us have stubborn pockets of fat that just don't seem to respond to our lifestyle efforts, and this is why fat-loss treatments have blown up (excuse the pun?!)

The two most popular fat bursting treatments available right now are Lipofirm and Fat freezing. Both are non-invasive procures yielding great results! So how do you know which to go for? Let's compare...

Lipofirm combines TriLipo and Dynamic Muscle Activation (DMA) to stimulate and increase fat metabolism in the layers of fat beneath the skin.

TriLipo uses radio frequencies to heat the fat cells and trigger a natural bodily process called Lipolysis, which involves a natural release of fat from the fat cells. DMA works to tone muscle and stimulate blood flow to boost lymphatic drainage which helps you to get rid of the fat.

The fat loss is accelerated when DMA causes muscles to “squeeze” the fat cells. The muscles then push the released fat away from the cells so the fat can be disposed of naturally.

Fat freezing cools the fat cells to below freezing, which subsequently kills fat cells so the body can get rid of them.

Fat freezing works on nearly any area of the body where there is a thick enough layer of fat to pinch between your fingers.

The Procedure

Both Lipofirm and Fat freezing are non-surgical and non invasive treatments. While both procedures are pain-free, they can feel slightly uncomfortable, as if you have just completed an intense workout!

Both procedures are unlikely to take more than 60 minutes. For Lipofirm treatments you require a weekly course of 6-8 treatments. For fat freezing you may get results after one session, however it is common to require more sessions.

Treatment sites

Both treatments work well for multiple areas of the body, including the stomach, upper arms, thighs, love handles.

Recovery time

Lipofirm and Fat freezing are both FDA approved demonstrating safey. The great thing about these treatments is that they are completely non-invasive, generating impressive fat reduction results without the surgical side effects of liposuction. There is no downtime and you’ll be able to get back to your daily routine right away!

Lipofirm Side Effects:

Patients may experience slight bruising and swelling in the treatment area for a few hours after the procedure, but this usually disperses rapidly.

Fat freezing Side Effects:

Fat freezing is very cold and can sometimes feel unpleasant on the skin. However, this sensation fades as the area becomes numb. Some other common side effects of fat freezing may include: a tugging sensation in the area during treatment and temporary skin sensitivity after the procedure. In some cases, treated fat cells may actually grow rather than shrink. This is known as paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. It is not dangerous, but it can require other procedures, such as liposuction, to remove these enlarged cells.

Both procedures have proven great results, although it’s important to note that you’ll be able to see some results from Lipofirm instantly (which makes it a good option if you have a special event you're working towards), whereas fat freezing results take longer to see (usually 2-3 months).

The added benefits of Lipofirm is that as well as fat melting it also provides results in terms of body contouring, cellulite reduction and skin tightening. This is due to the treatment stimulating collagen and elastin production resulting in improved skin elasticity, cellulite reduction and firmer, smoother skin.

Whilst fat freezing tends to be slightly cheaper, you could need multiple treatments so it may work out more expensive.

Both Lipofirm and fat freezing work best on people who are in relatively good physical shapes, but who want to shift stubborn areas of fat. We advise patients not to use the treatments as a direct replacement for healthy active lifestyles. If patients don’t stay healthy after having the treatments, then fat stores can certainly return.

Both treatments are game-changing in their ability to reduce stubborn fat in areas that are typically hard to sculpt. They provide great results without the downtime and risks associated with surgical liposuction!
